i was just wondering if i could play ps2 games on a ps3 because before i bought the ps3 i had the ps2 and have 78 games for the ps2 but when i put in a game it wont read it

If you bought the PS3 recently, it's probably not compatible with PS2 games:

You might be able to find a PS2-compatible version on ebay or craigslist.
