is there a way i can reset my ps2 it has a parental code on it.. i found the ps2 ai plugged it in and it works but i try to play dvds and they dont work.. games work fine.. please help |

dang all my games i gotta name them prince of persia the two thrones,nba live 07,devil may cry 2,devil may cry 3,devil may cry 1,true crime new york city,def jam fight for new york,tekken 5 all them won't work and they all kinda new and im getting kinda mad ima break this ps2 it will play but when it do it goes to the browser screen or it will say disc read error some one help me please by the way i have a ps2 slim |

Hi, Depending on the mod chip that is installed in your PS2 this may work: To play "genuine" PS1 or DVD Movies (hold the reset button from the off state - (red light on), until the blue light comes on. The PS2 should stay in this mode until it is turned off).
To disable the mod chip: hold the reset button in from the off state (red light on) for 5 seconds. this works with mine, good luck |

i bought my ps2 used, so i had this problem. the only way i found to fix it was this:
# Turn off parental lock
Insert a DVD. When the movie starts, press Select to go to the menu. Find the "Setup" icon and select it. When in the setup menu, press Right(2) to get to the custom setup. Go down to "Parental Control" and press Right to go to "Region", then go down to go to "Level". You can now turn the parental control on or off, and/or change the password.
# Change or delete parental lock
Press Start when prompted to enter the code. Once you get to where you enter the numbers, press Start and you will be asked if you want to delete it. You can also enter another code instead of deleting it. The master code is 7444. Enter it, and at the last "4", press Select at the same time. Do this again, and you will eventually get the option to delete the lock. Enter 7444 again to delete the code. |
