I got my dad to buy me a mod chip last month and he started to put it in sometime this month. The screen was blank when I tried to play with it after he finish. My friend helped me fix the problem but now each time I put a PS2 game or DVD in it either went blank or the screen that saids to insert a format disk comes up. Note: After he fix the first problem, he did leave the PS2 out "naked" for a few days or weeks so could that cause the problem? |

Broken. Get it fixed by people that actually know what they are doing. Or save up your pennies and buy a new one. If it is not working the way it was designed to do, it is broken. You may think that your friends have a fix, but they don't...they are just hoping and they got lucky |

If they really know what they are doing, they'd get hired as techs or engineers by Sony. I don't think that will be happening anytime soon. |

My son has a ps2 and recently when he inserted a new game it came up with 'please insert a playstation or ps2 format disc'. he also tried other games but the same thing happened. He takes very good care of the box and has never tampered with it. Can anyone help? |

That is unusual. Do you hear grinding noises when a disk is inserted? |

Unfortunately Ann, the unit needs to be sent to a repair center. The disks are not catching properly on the spinners, you may want to call Sony and see what they can do for you. |
