Peculiar problem. My playstation model #SCPH-50001, version 9. My playstation will play a movie in its entirety just fine. It will also play audio cd, no problem. But when I try to play a game, it will recognize it as Playstation 2 disk in the menu Browser. It will even begin to load the game. But it gets stuck and never completely loads the game. I don't have any blue disk colored games, only silver ones. My one game GT4, it gets as far as the copyright screen then when it tries to load the game menu the screen just remains black. I've ruled out the possibility of a bad game disk b/c it works fine on my friends ps2. Also, I don't believe its a read error b/c it plays movies and audio cds just fine. However, I have tried cleaning the laser and adjusting the laser angle for good measure all to no avail. If anyone has had this problem please respond.

well mine is a different case.. i cannot play dvd movies .. only games.. its scph70007.. damn this ps2 sucks!! |

My PS2 will only play games and no dvds! Why isn't this working?I have tried many dvds...NONE WORK! But all my games work perfectly fine.What should I do? |
