The PC has Win98SE and simply connecting the output to the sound card's line-in "overpowers" the PC software and the sound is clipped - is there a way of getting the music across digitally so that I can than burn these CDs on my PC?
Thanks

Is your xbox modded? If so you can install a dashboard eg Evox or Avanlanch. If you do have a modded xbox you might allready have a dashboard then you will need to connect your pc to your xbox with a networking crossover cable like you would connect 2 PC's the FTP to your xbox and transfer the data over.

I dont know a way if you havent got a modded xbox and dont think there is one
