When i got it originally it was fine, then I noticed the volume became low requiring me to turn up the TV volume. I also noticed that sometimes the sound would become slightly louder as i pushed in the av cable harder.

i checked to see if the digital output was off
I opened the ps2 to see if anything was wrong but the AV port is encased in metal. Now when i use it, its barely audible and extremely distored.

-same results for different cables/diff games.

besides trying to get a new AV port from a dead mobo and installing it (ick......), is there anything else i can do?
