Hi,

I have a compaq Laptop. I am trying to connect it to my Philips TV. I am able to see the output on my TV but it is black and white. I am using a S-video port on laptop and one RCA video output for my TV. My S-vedio port is of 7 pins but I am using a 4 pin cable can this be a problem? I have checked the settings of NTMC and PAL both does not work.

I am having a similar problem with a Compaq laptop and a Panasonic plasma trying to use s-video out (7 pin) to 4 pin TV. And I can see the desktop backround on the tv as well as the mouse pointer and with an RCA white and red from the headphone outlet on the laptop I do have Audio. I have the resolution at 800x600 and selected the digital flat panel in the display settings and I put a check in the extend my windows desktop onto this monitor.
Any ideas woud be appreciated.
