I recently bought a VGA to S-Video / RCA Adaptor I hooked up my computer to the TV through the S-Video hook up but the color is all messed up, how I do get the TV screen match the desktop screen

I have a Acer Aspire 5100 with a, Ati Radeon Xpress 1100 Graphics Card

How I get the TV to look just like the computer screen?

When I got the colors workin the screen got to dark but when I try the brightness the colors when away, how do I fix this?
