I have got a 17inch crt monitor for about 2yrs now(brand-americansys) I leave my p.c on most of the time, the problem is with the color of the screen, it tends to get dark, dim and just turns black, everytime the monitor is on after a while or so.. So I have to keep switchin the screen on and off several times for it to get back to its normal color, otherwise I find it diffcult to work at the p.c when that happens...

Could it be a problem with the tube? or the crt power chord needs to be changed? or just buy a new LCD monitor? many thanks...

Can't say what the problem is, but my bet would be you would be best off buying a new monitor. You don't want to mess with the internals of a CRT.
