can somebody tell me how to convert existing cd-rom to dvd-rom, so that it can play dvd's on the same drive?? i read it somewhere but now i can't find the required info.....

Yeah, I think you posted this already and it was answered. Essentially: It can't be done and is a myth. DVD-Roms are cheap anyway.
