My geforce mx 4000 128mb won't run scarface, So it's time to upgrade. I'm looking at something I wont have to replace for atleast a year or two, something like 512mb GDDR3 256 bit perhaps? which would perform better, 256mb on 256 bit or 512mb on 128 bit? |

http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/02/06/the_best_gaming_video_cards_for_the_money /index.html Should give you an idea of what is out there at least. PS: More memory generally gives you more textures but not higher frame rates (unless you have too little for what you are trying to do). A wider memory interface gives you more bandwidth, which will give you higher framerates. |

PPS: Memory speed x the width of the interface is what gives you bandwidth. |

by the way, if you wanna running vista OS under your plantform, you should consider the hardware repuirement of MS, so, in my humidy opinion, 256M with 256 bit bandwidth is favour. for you reference only. good luck! |
