Hi.

I have this soundcard in a new pc.
I am using the headphone out to source a tube amp.
I can play cd's fine with the Plextor drive, but cannot get any windows sound.
When I start a cd, it opens Creative mediasource.

Any experience?

The thing came with the most rudimentary instruction fold-out I've ever seen. No pdf's on the website, either.

Thanks

Cannot get any windows sound? Please elaborate. What other media player programs do you have on the PC? Do you prefer to play the CD using a different program?

Sorry to be so late, Bernie.

This X-FI is of executive program size, and a bit dazzling. I found the issue, a hidden sound effects schpiel.

remove all click boxes, standard stereo(although it comes from the headphone jack)!!!!!!!

It must get better than this. I will search the mass of program to use better jacks, and I will post back.
Likely a while, at the rate I am going.

However, in it's present state(barring the 3.5mm jack) the system works wonderfully with a small 18wpc tube amp and Alegria single driver speakers!

More to fallow...er...follow.
