Hi,

I upgraded my system recently and bought a samsung sp2514n dvd rw. It worked great for a couple of days after I installed my new harddrive but now the icon doesn't appear in My Computer, disks sound like they're loading up but nothing comes up on the screen and Winamp can't detect it's there to even start burning to burn anything onto.

The odd thing is that it's still there on Device Manager, and says that there is nothing wrong. I've tried a system restore and checked all the internal connections a few times and they're ok.

Help! I don't want to have to buy another, cos I don't think it's broke!

With the PC off and unplugged, unplug the power cable from the burner, then boot up and shut down the PC, plug the power cable back in and reboot. If that doesn't work, the burner is probably no good. Samsung is a terrible company to buy from, virtually everything they make has problems. Return it and get an NEC or Pioneer.
