My D drive is a Sony crx225E.

msconfig has been set to only run minimal MS processes and antivirus scans at startup.

My 3 anti-virus programs are all current and say I'm 100% clean.

I've un-installed and re-installed D and its controller.

D can play cd-rom software and cd-r photo discs burned on other people's computers.

However, the computer locks up within 3 seconds after closing the drawer on blank cd-r and store bought music cd-rom discs.

Also, re-boots go to a black screen if I forget to pull the those types of discs from the drive before re-booting.
