i just got the xbox 360 and i want to get xbox live, but to do that you need to run an ethernet cable from my xbox (upstairs) to my dsl modem (downstairs). and hook it up to my upstairs comnputer that i have in my room?? and then just run the ethernet from that (in my room) to the xbox like 5 feet away???

and when i hook (that dsl modem in the link) on my room computer, will i just siddenly have the internet? -- or do you have to pay some other fees?, because its seems to me that you would need to pay extra to have another internet connection in your room..

Dual modems, basically? I tried that with my first DSL setup (two subscriptions were bought as well) but didn't know that it would never work...and it doesn't...
I THINK you can buy a linksys wireless router or something like that, receive the signal wirelessly, and have the unit convert it to ethernet. |

dam. how much would somthin like that be? cause i dont want to fkin spend money on a bunch of ethernet cable.
so i cant just hook that other model (same exact model) to my upstairs comp?? dam, that would be nice, but i figured that you would have to pay extra money or sumthin like that for a 2-room internet connection.... |

You are going to need a wireless router. This hooks up between your PC and your DSL modem.
