On my desktop each icon has a description under it like My computer or My documents and the description is outlined in white or any other color I want. I want it to not have an outline like it use to have. Can you help me get rid of it again?

Try re-applying your background. Did you do anything recently to the display such as changing the color of any texts/themes?
