I have a four port router and i connected the wan line from my cable receiver and then 2 cables from the router to my two computers. It says is is connected and has ip address and gateway address and is receiving and sending packets but when i go to get on interntet explorer it says it can't find the web page and acts like i'm not connected. Don't know what to do if anyone has and advise that would be helpful.

Thanks,
Austin

what router are u using, at the back of the router should be numbers 1 through 4 and a wan, WAN connects from the router to the cable modem, and computer 1 to port 1 and computer 2 to port 2, doesn't really matter, but make sure the WAN ethernet is connected to the cable modem, Also note that the router usually comes with a cd, on getting u started, most of the time with cable u juz connect and go, if you still need assisstance provide the OS that ur using and the router model number.
