Do any of you know why my comp is saying that I only have 5GB when I know it is a 40GB computer. I went to "my computer" and saw the properties of the C drive and it shows a full memory usage on the C drive and all of the other drives have no memory. So if you know how I can fix it without reforming it or if I have to how do you do it? Thanks a lot! |

Reload the whole thing. Sounds like a virus. |

If your using WinXP, try right clicking on my computer on your desktop --> go to manage --> storage --> disk managemnet ...That should give you all the information you need. |

LONG SHOT:: neighbor of mine had a new HD installed. He loaded all his stuff back on and eventually bought some new antivirus software. It wouldn't load. I went down and had a look. The 'technician' who did the work configured it as FAT16, so no matter how large the HD was, it would only see 2gb. He was at the limit. Reformat, reload, reconfigure and fixed. |

how many HDDs do you have? how many partitions? If C: is the only hard disk and partition, the other drives are optical most likely and will show little to no free space. |
