I have an Audigy 2 card in my laptop. Using the analog outputs, I connect it to a Marantz surround receiver. It all sounds great. However, I am concerned I am not getting the best out of this setup. You see, both the card and the receiver have their own calibration routines. It implies that the receiver gets "calibrated" inputs from the card and then amplifies them with its own calibration settings. Is this the way it should be? It seems to me the card's calibration should be disabled or set to be as "neutral" as possible so that the receiver would get pure inputs, like if it came from a DVD player. The problem is I don't know how to do this... Comments would be appreciated.
