Ok I have one set of nice speaker and I want to hook up another pair, there is a line out on my computer and thats where I want to plug them in but I can't get any sound to come out!

do you have onboard sound and a sound card? you might be plugging the 2nd pair of speakers into the onboard audio socket and have your sound card on.

try just using a one to two 3.5 inch jack connector. Will set u back a couple of dollars.
