I couldn't find this on the search so:
I have a Audigy 2 ZS platinum pro with the external drive. I tried to connect xbox and ps2 to the rca sound inputs awhile ago, I made sure nothing was muted and the lines were turned up high on the sound controls. I have the promedia 5.1 ultra but I don't think thats an issue. Creative support (after telling me to check the mute and such) said that the xbox or ps2 need a preamp before comming into the rca inputs. I don't understand why, as it should pick up the signal then send it to the sound system which then does the amplifying. Every other jack works, I even had an unamplified electric guitar play perfectly in the line 2 input. Optical sound works fine so I have been using that, but do I have a defective unit or is some amplifier really needed.
