Hi

I have just bought a Panasonic NV-GS17 Mini DV camcorder.
It has not arrived yet but I want to be prepared for connecting it up to my PC for editing.

I have bought a IEEE 1394 card and a firewire cable.

However I have read that some people who have bought this camera have had problems with both USB and Firewire.

Can anyone tell me if the NV-GS17 connects up to the a PC (using Vista) with relative ease using Firewire ? What will I have to do once the firewire card is fixed and the firewire is connected to the camera and PC ?

Has anyone here connected a NV-GS17 up to a PC via firewire that was successful ? Did you have any problems.

Also as I have Vista will that lead to problems while connecting this camera via Firewire ?

If I am likely to have problems with Vista while using Firwire I have another computer with XP on.

I would be so grateful if anyone could help. I'm quite worried.

pc would be great to hear from anyone but very good to hear from people who have or had this camcorder and used firwire.
