I think I know the answer to this. I have a Canon MV5 camcorder and recently bought a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li 1718 laptop running Vista. Although quite new I find that the PC only has USB ports and no firewire. Is there any way that I can download video from my camcorder without installing an IEEE 1394 board?

Depends on your camcorder.
I'm too lazy too to search for the manual online. Since you're the owner, read it.

Thanks for nothing. I have obviously read the manual, all I was asking was is there any other way of connecting my camcorder by DV out to a laptop which doesn't have firewire.
