Hi there,
I had my camcorder stolen 3 years ago, and received it back today. I ran around for hours locating all the accessories I have for the Camera, only to hook it up to it's external power supply and find that it doesn't work at all anymore.
The people that stole it have obviously tried to get the tape out of it, as there are marks all around the tape area, and a bit of the wire tape has been cut.
The only reason I wanted the camera back was to get my tape back, as I got another camera back through insurance. I just want to get the tape out of it before I forward the camera to my insurance company.
Does anyone know of a way I can get my tape out without damaging the tape and what is on it. I was going to take to the camcorder with a hammer, but am worried it will to dammage to the tape.
The camera is a Samsung NV-GS50 mini DV

Panic over!!
I pulled the camcorder appart with some screwdrivers and a large hammer. Tape came out fine!!
