My check engine light keeps on coming on in my car. I was driving today and it popped on and my car just got out of the shop about a week ago. So I don't know whats happening but this is like the 3rd or 4th time so far this has happened since the start of '08. Wish I could just sell the damn thing and start over. |

Yeah that check engine light can be very annoying. Mainly because you need special diagnostic equipment to decode the problem from the car's cpu. It all started with emissions in the late 80's. Could be anything. Oxygen sensor, catalytic converter, vacuum leak, ect.....

Yea I'm hoping its just something stupid and easy to fix. If it is something major then I wouldn't be surprised if my dad just said "Fock it", we're selling this car. So much has been wrong with this car from the start. |

No worries, man!
Yanks, the first thing you may want to check is the gas cap. Make sure that it is not loose and check if the gasket on it is still good and creating a good seal. Sometimes those can cause the check engine light to come on specially with the OBDIIs. It happens all the time. |

Try doing a reset:
turn the key on
make sure the odometer is on odo and not trip 1 or 2
turn off key
push in and hold the reset
turn key on
the odo display will show "-------"
they will drop off one dash at a time when they are gone you should be reset

Yanks buy an OBDII Reader. Then you can read the codes yourself, look em up and fix whatever it is for cheap yourself. Well if it is catalytic related it wont be cheap but it's usually something like an oxygen sensor. You can also reset (turn off until some other code grabs) the check engine light. You can get a decent one for around 60-80 bucks at auto parts stores or better yet, online. Nice thing to have, and you can read your friends cars too for 5 bucks |

You know in general LK has been getting nothing but bad vibes from just about everyone. Even the Admin has had his dealings with him. The man just doesn't know where the line is or cares if he crosses it. He's posted links to obscene horrific acts in the OT area, insulted Berny, thumbs his nose at the Admin, bulldogs his way through the sat section, has a SEVERE inferiority complex, and basically demands respect from everyone because of his background.
Personally I think he deserves all the static.  |

because yesterday i entered a spl comp here ,my 1st time & did 149.1 with a single 1 15" off my orion 2500d amp! .....dont ask me what 15 since its a secret i want to keep because nobody even knows it & i want to keep it that way ...
nobody even came near & only 1 guy beat me - with what u may ask !? ....16 10" pioneers in a walled wagon with about double power as me ....got me a nice trophy
oh yesterday too i finally got that new sony d\cam & will test it out soon - so expect alot of pix from me now ..... |

wasnt a official comp & most of us were not really built to compete but was done properly by certified iasca officials ...

let me tell you what happened. i just didn't want to say anything in the main forum cause kevin holden is still a cool guy to me.
more than a month ago, i bought the rd alpha component set and the rd audio 55.4 amp. after i hooked both up, the left side speaker blew. the cone came apart from the voice coil. so i reinstalled my mmats comps. it blew that one too. only 55wrms. lol. i got the mmats comp replaced asap cause i got it from a dealer.
anyways i tell steve and he tells me keep the blown speaker and ship the amp to a return location and he will ship out a replacement. so i did.
after that i said can i just get a 2 channel amp instead (which is cheaper btw) and he said sure. he said he will ship it out that day. i wait a week and no amp so i email him. he calls me and says they don't have the 2 channel amp in stock. so i said ok then just send me another 4 channel. so he said okay and will ship the next day.
a week goes by and no amp so i email him. this time no response. he was sick at home. so i emailed kevin holden and he got a hold of steve and told him. he said the amp was shipped. it was supposed be here on a friday and it got here the following tuesday. i was mad but i finally got my amp so i was fine.
but guess what. i still haven't got a replacement speaker for the blown one. its been more than month and a half since i paid for the speakers and still i can't use it. i am selling the speakers to thieves on this forum but i can't send it to him until i get the replacement. this is just BS. |
