lol...according to a study, portland is the best city to live in the U.S.

How much do you think fisher or phil will charge for a box like that?

fisher would be a bit cheaper than phil but both would charge more than that site i think.

yeah portland is very nice. i lived up in seattle with my cousin for about a year in the past. we decided to drive down to cali during the thanksgiving break. anyways on the way, we stopped at portland to eat and to see how the city is. its beautiful. but the rest of oregon is boring. its trees after trees after trees. lol.

Those boxes look like someone's been learning off of Phil and Fisher. Personally I'd rather get one from one of those two than the site. At least they would take pics along the way, not to mention they have a fantastic rep here.

Looks like one big happy family lol.

Everythings coming together. Ordered the fuses last night. Now to design and build the box. I'm nervous with such a small recommended enclosure size though. .45 cu's vented @ 27hz??? Personally I'd have it in nothing smaller than 2 cu's but we'll see. Fun fun.

I'd be in a much better mood about all of this but I just found out my father was told he has a malignant tumor on his bladder. With the meds he's on for his high BP they can't operate. They're saying 2-5 years. I'm trying to be positive about it. He just retired 2 months ago. Damn.

Good stuff Pauly. Can't wait for you to install it man. Make a guest appearance at the meet :-)

I sorry about your dad Paul. I'll send one out as well for him Paul.

And I've been meaning to ask this, what does it mean to be on a team, like Team RD Audio? Obviously you get lower prices. But you just go out to as many competitions as you can and rep the company? Let people get a taste, if you will, of what the companies equipment can do? That pretty much sum it up or am I missing something?

Thanks guys. I'm just in a little shock about it. My grandmother may have to watch her son get buried. It's not something anyone can easily handle. I'm worried about my kids. They'll have to deal with this when they're about 10. Anyway things can and always do change so we'll see what happens.

The sub. Wow I'm liking it. The cone and motor reminds me of the eclipse. I did some surveying yesterday and it looks like the only place for my amp is under the crew cab seat. The rear seat doesn't move. At least it'll be hidden and also accessible.

Another thing is that the cone isn't as stiff like SI or FI's were. Almost like it's been broken in already. She looks and feels like a mighty punch.

Starting my baby box for the RL-i today. I can't convince myself to use the recommended enclosure size. I just can't see it. Not to mention to get the tuning freqs of my port it would need to be like 54" long lol. I'm bumping up its' size a bit and I'm going to use poly as well. She'll be in the low 30hz's. Flush mount as well.

Box done. I'll make a complete thread of the entire build and install when it's all done. Waiting on terminal, banana plugs and 12ga speaker wire. Then I carpet and finish the box up.

Setup would be the jigsaw. Draw the circle, drill a pilot hole and cut away. $20 tool.

Perfect circles would be the router. More setup, a tad tricky when you reach the end of the circle. (The jig is pivoted in the center. When the center falls out you need to catch it or risk digging into the sides). Tool is much more expensive. $100-$300+

Roto zip works the same way as a router. Just easier to handle. $50?

I've always had success with the jig. Sharp blade, a little patience and it's all good.

It's so damn funny to see these guys cutting holes with a large reciprocating saw, (big sawzall). Looks like they used a chainsaw lol.

So was I. It's an adrenaline rush to say the least. When my wife went into labor with our second child I rushed her to the hospital and tried to explain as calmly as I could to the receptionist that she was in labor. The lady with a bandaged hand was in front of us. I "had" to be rude and interject. I was looked at like I was crazy. I said: "Lady, unless you want to deliver my child in the waiting room you best let me through!"

My wife's water broke in the hallway while in the wheelchair. She delivered in less than an hour.

i've busy since thursday night. installing the alpha comps on thursday night, the cdt on friday night, alot of fine tuning on saturday. today, i spent all morning putting my mmats 3 way back on. apparently the mmats is the best.

what i did was mount the tweeter closer to the mid. now it sounds more full.

next week, i will be going over to berny's and we will make a pod for the mid and the mid bass woofer on my door panel. we will fiberglass it. expect tons of pics.
