hmm d fonts show up pretty good\clean on my 17 crt aoc monitor
since i sold my Inf Ref 6.5 early last yr i been without full rich sounds from my doors ....i replaced d Inf with a pair of crystal 6.5 50wrms coax & rear doors with pair of pioneer 50wrms off HU power only ...sounds clean but not much real low freq response
next wkend i think ima deaden insides my doors properly then buy some new door speakers ....also plan to deaden my roof good too ...... |

guys the mag isn't all that its cracked up to be. it does sound awesome but not as much as people hype it up. lol. i still like the sound of my realm audio subs better. i guess i am just a sealed box type of guy. lol.
glad i didn't pay full price for this. hahaha. |

also it has alot to do with the music i listen to. the mag just doesn't cut it.
ever since rovin introduced me to some good music, i've been listening to alot of what he recomended me. also i've been listening to alot of blues and jazz. the mag comes alive when i play songs with bass though. but regular music, well i like my realms better. |

that is what i am trying to say. on rap it is good.
don't take it the wrong way guys. it sounds good. i am just a hard person to please when it comes to sq. lol. for the type of music i listen to, i think the mag could sound better. |

From every review I have ever heard, between the Q and Mag, the difference is very slight and the price difference is what makes the Q a better option. |

sup kidz - 2nite i helped some guys do a big 3 on a suzuki wagon ...1st time we all actually doing this so it took us about 2hrs because there were tight spaces to pass d wires through
i always known ho to do it but never did it b4 - few mths ago all my lazy azz did was engine to batt pole ...so all i did was a 'big 1' ...lol

Cool. I tried some in those prefab baby boxes from PE and off my home receiver they had little output. They'll still sell tho. Maybe it was because those boxes are so waaaaaay undersized for them. Probably. |

yeah lol.
ima go pick up a sealed 15 box. gonna try out the mag out in there and see how it sounds sealed.
one thing i have realized from using all kinds of subs in my car is that all subs peak differently. of course i knew that but i actually got to hear that. lol. anyways, since sq is subjective, i need to find one that peaks at a freq i like.
so in conclusion, the mag is an excellent sounding sub, but to a picky guy like me, my search will continue. |

anways i got some good news.
I DID IT!!!!!
i finally got the mag to sound awesome. lol. first thing, i took out the audiocontrol eqx. i realized that processed sound just insn't for me. then i messed with a few things like settings on the headunit and the gain and all. now it sounds awesome. i love the mag.
i also learned a lesson today. the mag just doen't seem to sound good sealed. lol. gotta go ported all the way. spent 40 bux on a sealed box to realize that. lol. i gained experience though. |

yep - with every box u try a sub in it either peaks in above 40 or below 40
4 daily use i have my hp filter set around 70 & lp around 35 so thats my range at this time
y is it when i post a thread asking something it seems hardly any1 offers any useful info - doubt my ? r that hard to answer & not just this 1 with d 18" spex but few others in d past .....u would think with so many knowledgebale ppl on here it would be easy to get a good answer ..... |

Rovin. You have to look at the big picture. When an experienced member asks a question few are eager to jump at answering it. Why? Because they're intimidated on being ostracized over being wrong. They just don't realize that there truly is no end to the learning curve.

i tried it in sealed last night. it sounded terrible. maybe its cause the sealed box is only 2 cuft and the mag's recommendation is 2.5 cuft. i doubt the .5 more cuft is going to make a lot of difference though.
but if i was to make a 3 cuft sealed box, it would be a whole different story imo. i think it 3 cuft sealed it will sound good. i ain't about to try it though. i got it to sound good in my ported box right now so i don't want to change a thing.
this sub is amazing.
paul, it is probably broken in. but when i got it it looked really new. besides it don't matter how you pound this sub at home, it ain't like the way i pound it in my car. lol.
