Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums and my name is Tom.

I am having a big problem with my camera. I've had it for about two years and it's in perfect condition. I have never had a problem with it until last week. Around 12am I took my camera out and filmed with it and it was working fine and then later that night I turned it back on to film and it's a black screen. The cover is off and it's still a black screen. Now, you can record with it and watch videos on the LCD screen and you can hear the audio which I recoreded with the black screen which means the microphone still is working but what can be wrong with it?

I called sony and they want me to pay $200+ to get this fixed...If I was to pay that I might as well get a new camera. I know there has gotta be something small wrong with it, anyone ever heard of this problem with any camera and that can help me please???

Thanks so much everyone <
