i have a sharp 8mm and i wanted to transfer that to the computer using a canon mini dv 16mm that i just bought. i also bought a firewire port because i heard it was faster than usb. so now i just wanted to know exactly how to do this since i think i got everything i need. thanks in advance. |

What video editing program are you using? You need to get decent software (read, paid for) to get respectable results. What is your OS? You need a minimum of XP for ease of use. |

Im using windows movie maker. Im not sure what OS means? And I do have windows XP. |

You can try the Windows Moviemaker. Now you need a firewire cable to connect your camcorder to the PC. |

I did try to plug in the firewire cable to my camcorder but my computer doesnt show that it is connected. I was thinking of using powerproducer 2 gold instead of windows moviemaker. |
