I have a question. I got the 12" Eclipse from Isaac and it is in need of a surround repair. It has a tear in the surround about 3" long. I dropped Scott from FI a line and he is nice enough to send out some rubber adhesive for me. What a great guy. I have to remove the silicon that was used and failed b4 I can use the adhesive. Is there a rubber surround kit out there that has maybe something I can use on top of the tear or am I stuck with just gluing the two sides of the tear together? I'm a little disappointed cause he said it was a small tear. His pics were hard to see. 3" isn't small, especially for an Eclipse. Short of having the sub sent out, what else can I do?

I met Mike today fellas. Wow! Youth really is wasted on the young. Maybe it's just I'm too far from where he is. A 17 years old with $$ out the azz and no worries. No mortgage, no kids, no problems. He's a good kid. I checked his system out. 2 ED nine's pushing a 15" Q. His ride shook something bad! Wiper blades bouncing and all. I was pretty impressed. What put things into perspective was when he asked for me to buy booze for him. I was done at that point. Good kid, only living in today's world. Just thought I'd share that. |

To me it teaches them nothing. Without dad's money they are nothing. I was given nothing. I bought my first car on my own, paid my own insurance, and got myself out of trouble when it happened. Today, kids are given so much to start with and don't appreciate it. Mike is 17, with several places to live if he chooses. He has a brand new civic and money to burn, only looking for the next place to party. I was there once, only with so fewer options. IDK. |

If you met Mike Charlie you would agree with me. There are always exceptions to every rule. Mike wasn't worried about anything, only where the next party was. If you have school, job, family, whatever that takes up your time I can relate. I didn't have the luxury of having anything given to me. Taught me the world. If you know what is important in life than you have ten fold over what Mike knows. Hey, I was 20 once. (And only once). I wish I was as smart as you are Charlie at your age than I was at mine. Then again, at that age I was too busy making all my mistakes in life. AKA great memories! |

lol i know paul i just had to call you out on it lol but ya my brother mike was the same way now hes in the army and i think hes figuring it out i just try to live in reality not party mode weve all had our fun times but then again theres a time when u have to learn its time to do whats right for the rest of your life to mke you happy forever and if u look at it that way it just takes all the selfish acts most kids make out of the way and just try to focus which is what im trying to do not always easy though lol |

I had a friend like that. His dad always gave him money. From the age of 18-20 he's owned 3-4 cars that his dad paid for of course. I lost count. As for me, my dad bought me my first car and I highly appreciated it. I always ask them if they need money because I'm sure they do. And I probaly gave them about 3-5 thousand dollars of my own money from like November 06 to now. I don't know. Anyways, the moral of the story is, I hate spoiled kids ;). I work hard for what I have and I know that makes me a better person than someone who has everything handed to them on a silver platter or plate or w/e. |

you guys just reminded me of my friend. i have a chinese friend who's parents are rich up the gazoo. lol. anyways after my friend and his sister both graduated from high school and got in to decent university, their parents decided to move back to china for good. before they left, they gave my friend and his sister million dollars each. after giving them the money, they told him that is the last time they will be giving money so spend it wisely.
my friend was taking all of us out drinking every weekend but he started a business too. i haven't seen him in 4-5 years but i hear he is doing good for himself. |

^^^That is some good stuff man. It's a shame it's in the bragging section which never works. What's really a shame is that because the bragging section is down so often nobody checks it often, or ever. I kinda wish I was into car audio full time as a career. Box builders/installers in my area just don't make what I make now. I'm in a dead area. I can't even go to a comp because there aren't any around.
On a different and sad note, I'm being sued fellas. By someone my ex-wife rear ended a couple years ago while she was still under my insurance policy. Nothing more than a scratch on her bumper but the $$$ hungry b1tch is claiming injuries. Over two years ago and now I'm faced with a lawsuit. If it goes the distance I could lose my house, over an accident I wasn't involved in. I have problems, and they're not even mine. |
