My tv: A 52" Mitsubishi HD1080 widescreen My receiver: A 7year old Technics SA-AX540. 100w X 5 My cd player: 7 year old Technics SL-PD8 5 disc player My surround: KLH (Not great, but not bad) Dvd player: Phillips DVP642 Tape player: JVC dual deck (For the old stuff) EQ: Optimus 10 band W/expander and bypass (Really old) Works great though. Sub: Well, you know. 15" MAG powered by the 1000w Dayton plate amp. Seriously thumps the movies. Alot of older pcs, but def gets the job done. I also have a dvd recorder and an additional 13" screen behind the bar when company's over, just for kicks. No where near top end but enough to enjoy. And yes, HT can get as, if not more, expensive as car audio. And just as rewarding. |

Seriously, I thought y'all packed up camp and pitched a tent elsewhere without a forwarding address. Hey when is AA coming out with their new line? I wanna price the 18" Avalanche. Gonna take some PI work to find an amp for it though. |

Chad, how do like FI products? Man, I think my internal fuses are blowing over deciding between the 18" Avalanche or the 18" Q for my next sub project. I can't even compare current specs until AA comes out with their new line. Sucks. |

Lol..rovin i was about to ask u how it sounded..lol...but i guess i will have 2 wait...also u should notice an increase in spl as well as no more rattles or at least less.... and Paul...Honestly the Q sh!ts on the Ava in output and the sq is very close i would say u could give the nod to either on a given day..but for u since u have a mag then u would lose quite a bit of output... Also i notice that the Q is a more efficient driver....Both on 800rms...the Q was louder... Dont get me wrong the Ava is one of my favorite drivers i have ever heard hits the lows like no other and it is super accurate...But the Q does the same with more spl...Almost like a ava on steroids....But if u can find a 18" ava for less then $220-$230shipped i would go for it...Remember when the new stuff comes out people will try and get rid of them for low prices...thats how i got my ava..lol So for my preferences ..would be a Q, tight, accurate, lots of output...and very flexible box options.... Let me no...if u have any other ?uestions...I like answering..lol |

Nice. I like the price too. I still can't believe I paid $350 (at a group buy) for the Mag and there were comparable subs out there for alot less. Education I guess. |

I dont think the Q can touch the ava down low. If thats what you want paul the 18in avalanche has a FS of 15hz The Q doesnt even come close to that. As far as total output the Q will get louder and SQ is similar below 50hz but above 50hz the Q takes it. but below 25hz the avalanche destroys the Q. |

To tell you guys the truth, the mag is the largest sub I've owned. I had never heard the lows capable of a 15" or larger sub. D@mn, the lows an Avalanche can hit, compared to the looks/value of the Q. Both great sounding subs. Thanks guys. Either way I'm slighted towards the Q because I just don't know if I can stand to wait for the new AA line to come out. I prefer new over used so that makes my decision easier. H@ll, by the time AA comes out witheir new line, I'll be ready for another change anyway. Waiting on those pics Rovin. |

James i didnt think so either...in the 30-50hz range the Q is just crazy...I agree. anything below 30hz the ava is still the king...but then again most music doesnt go that low anyway...not sure about in a HT setup seeing that im still trying to learn about it..But u really cant loose with either sub... |

Oh hell ya! Good stuff...bulgogi is strips of beef marinated in sweet soy sauce and grilled to perfection, served over sticky rice with the pre-requisite kim-chee. Kalbi would be beef short ribs marinated and grilled...yummy stuff man! |

I had a Korean friend growing up that suckered me into trying "Kimchee". That's how he called it. I hated him everyday after that. It was HOT!!! Just B4 school to boot so I was fubar the whole day. My azz didn't like it either. James, I'd love an Avalanche. U got one you want to sell? And we're all waiting for Muddy as well. |
