My DSC P-71 is displaying an error code, That Berny informs me must be repaired by sony. Sony informs me they want $181 to repair this. Seems kind of high for a 2 year old $279 camera. Anyone know of a lower priced alternative? Jim

"That Berny"???WTF?!?

Have you tried the yellow pages, that jim?:-)

Seriously, these point and shoot digital cameras are the new disposables. It is not cost effective to keep parts for it when it will not last very long with today's emerging and constantly evolving digital camera. The best thing to do is buy a new digital camera, perhaps a Canon or Nikon, not a Sony. They make great TVs and Playstations, but their cameras are still a few years experience behind real camera makers, even with the famous Carl Zeiss lens.
