Hello I have a USB cable and I use it to connect to my computer to transfer pictures. Now I want to transfer actual video. If I buy a fire wire cable, do I have to buy anything else?
My camcorder is a Panasonic PV-GS14, and it has the usb port and an iDV port as well.
Also my computer is a fairly new Compaq XP (recent enough not to have a floppy drive) is that compatable. My computer also has a socket that reads 1394 on top and a little symbol on the bottom. is this the fire wire port?

thanks
Thanks

yes that is the firewire port. The next thing you need is a decent video editing software, if you do you will be back here asking all kinds of how??:-)
Good luck
