I have a Mini DV JVC GR-D260EK and I installed the disc they sent me and have all of my cables attached, but unlike my old cam it picks up the stills but when I try to use, say windows movie maker and other capture software its telling me it does not detect my cam,
Can anyone help me please |

I am having the same problem, and I am not using the included Usb to Usb cable, but an aftermarket dv to usb cable. |

Won't work. Use a DV to firewire cable. |

why won't it work? even if i download a driver for it? besides, I am on a laptop, so installing a firewire card isn't as "easy" for me as you claim for a desktop tower. |

actually, i just did some research and can use my expansion slot, so it's even easier, but this means i have to spend more money on a different cable and the expansion card? there is absolutely no way the cable i am currently using will work?

Go ahead and try it. But you have to take a good look at all the problems being posted on this forum regarding USB.
Prime example...you are having a problem right now...aren't you?
But hey...maybe you know better. |
