I have a JVC miniDV cam GR-D30U I'm just getting started and need to know what i need to make dvds from my pc. My pc is sony vaio, win xp,ser pack2 I was looking at digital video converters, is this the way i need to go? Also my cam keeps giving me " please wait condensation, operation paused " it does this all the time now is this an easy fix? Can't use the cam until this is fixed.

The warning signal...if it comes up for no apparent reason besides coming out of air conditioned environment to high humidity, then, you need to have it serviced.

Check the camcorder if it has a DV output, if it does, check your computer for a firewire port. Then get a MiniDV out to Firewire in cable. Then you need a decent video editing program. NO PIXELA or any other Sony proprietary format. Use ULEAD or Adobe Premiere or Pinnacle or Power Director. Don't go cheap or you'll come back here asking how to fix things or problems like undetected camera or no driver, etc.
