Hi I am looking to buy a digital cam, I have in mind the Sony CyberShot W5 or the Canon Powershot A610 I have tried them both, I prefer the Sony for the fact that it is smaller, easier to use (the menus) however, the delay to focus and take a picture is shorter on the canon... I do not know what else to look for , it is my first digital cam. Could you please help! |

I would personally go with the Canon. Sony is an electronics manufacturer, Canon is a camera manufactuer who makes their own imaging sensors and optics. Which would you expect knows more about making a good camera? Of course this is just my $0.02. |

fannie, You touched on a very important feature of a camera. The rate of response. Think about this. You have a fleeting moment right before your very eyes and you want to capture that exact moment with your camera. Can you afford to loose that moment with a camera that makes you wait?
