Hi,
I have a Sony Digital Handycam (DCR-TRV250) that I haven't used much, but recently, when I attempt to record, I'm getting a gray screen. When I playback what I have recorded it is gray also. I can playback previously taped segments with no problem, but the problem is when I attempt to record. Could anyone give me some advice on this (lol..yes, the lens cap is off).

There is a problem with the Sony LCD unit. Go to their website and you will see that there was a recall. Customer service # is 866-703-7669.
