I am interested in purchasing a new camcorder for under $1000 dollars and am not sure if DVD or Mini DV is better format.

Most of the time I will be making my own DVD's with Ulead software so quality, ease of tranfer and of course price are my biggest concerns.

Any suggestions?

Why is Mini DV better? It seems like DVD is much more simple for playback and copy. Do you know of any articles that specifically address the comparison?
Thanks.

Depends really on how you want to use it. Mini DV is a little easier to work with, in my experience.
