I know I've seen this post but can't seem to find it. I have old Sony Hi-8 tapes that I plan on transferring to PC through my Mini DV. The problem is I no longer have the HI-8 Camcorder. Is there anyway to play these tapes without the Hi-8 camcorder or at least a very in-expensive method. Any help or thoughts are appreciated.

I have seen Hi-8 to VCR adaptors around...may try ebay.
