alright. im trying to get some footage from my camera to my laptop. I have a SONY dvd handycam, the USB included from that, this wierd looking IEEE 1394 thing, and Uleas Video Studio 6.0 installed. Ive plugged the USB into the camera and then connected it to the computer, but it says i need the IEEE thing.... can someone please help me!?!? I dont know how my camera connects to this thing!! AH! |

Taylor,
I think if you look carefully, you will find a port on your camcorder where you can plug in one end of the wierd looking IEEE 1394 thing. If you can't find anything on your computer that will accept the other end, take the cable to your local computer store and ask them to sell you a similarly wierd firewire card (PCI for desktop, PCMCIA for laptop) and your problems will be solved.
If you are not familiar with installing computer hardware, seek assistance. Also, a hint, make sure both camcorder and PC are switched off when you plug the cables in.
