i connected my camcorder to the PCI VIA chipset IEEE 1394 OHCI compliant board through a 6-to-4 pin cable and nothing happens unless i plug in the cable into the camera and after that on the PC. I thought i don't need to go every time at the rear end of the PC everytime i want to capture video. Is this weird or what ? Any ideas ? Oh and winxp with sp2 isn't working well with firewire even with the MS patch WindowsXP-KB885222-v2-x86-ENU.exe !!! Don't bother !!! Just use SP1 instead !!!

I forgot to mention that sporadicaly when capturing video the link between the DV capture software and the camera goes down even if i don't touch anything ! Is that a cable problem ? Could that be the reason for my other problem
