i wanted to know your guys' input because i plan on getting a digital SLR in the near future.

Depends on your budget.
What features you want.
What lenses you already have. If your already have Canon lenses, stick with Canon and vice versa.
What controls you are familiar with. If you are familiar with Nikon then Canon will be different. Different layout and terms of function.

Both have outstanding lenses.

They both process excellent pictures.

Do not get caught up in the megapixel war.

are mega pixels not important?? and i do have a nikon but i have some crappy tamron lenses that would be stupid to used on a nikon digital...so i was pretty sure i wanted to D70 but i was lookin at the Canon 20D and its pretty hot stuff.

Go to the website I posted and you can pretty much come to your own take on the subject. The site is Nikon biased, so keep that in mind.

well i am pretty set on the D70 but if the D70s comes out by the time i have my finances in order i may just get that if it is not much more in price...

what do you think?

I would tend to agree. If it is out by the time you have the budget, I say go for it.
