Hello,

My Sony's handycam details are :
Sony Digital Video Camera Recorder
Model No. DCR-HC40E

Is it possible to copy the video (recorded into the camera's cassette) to hard disk, WITHOUT disturbing the original sound (sound recorded while shooting)

yes, that is usually how it happens. Have you experienced sound being "disturbed" when you copy your videos?
