My local electric co offers a "Watts dog" which is a surge protector they place on the line going into the house. They guarantee protection and will pay for damages secondary to surges. I would pay a small monthly fee but rather than protecting just my audio stuff it would cover everything. Anyone heard of this? Is it a reasonable idea? Thanks TL |

It depends on a few things. Does it matter whether your clock radio blows up? If you have home owners insurance you are probably covered if big things get damaged. There is a piece of mind issue but only you can answer that question. I would prefer a very good S.P on all my important equipment. Check for R.F.I. and E.M.I filtering on this device and compare specs to something like a PanaMax. |

Thanks for the help. I got some info in the mail today and it doesn't seem worth it. Do you recommend any particular PanaMax model? Thanks TL |
