I'm an owner of an Onkyo HT-S760 system, and I don't care much for the high gauge wire that came with it. I have some old 12 gauge stuff that has one strand covered in silver or zinc or something, and the other side is just the copper. The copper is oxidizing.

a.) does this make a huge difference (in terms of oxidation)?
b.) is it worth it?

c.) if it is, which side do I use for +, which side for - ?
