Hey, I am thinking of building my own floor standing speaker stands for my new bookshelf speakers to bring them up to ear level. They will be sitting on spikes, but I was wondering if the material on the stands themselves will affect the sound. I am a woodworker and I also am pretty good at welding, so either one would work. I personally would like to make them out of wood just for aesthetics. Anyone have any thoughts? |

metal is better, however be sure to fill the metal with sand (If hollow) |

metal and wood both are better , but check out that when u make a wooden stand , there is a chance for timber sound so use heavy wood and also when making a metal stand there is a chance of vibration if the metal is thin |
