I have an older television that does not have any output or input audio/video ports, only a plug for the outlet and the cable. The outlet plug runs to the cable box and the cable box plugs in the wall. Is there some type of splitter that will allow me to hook up my dvd player? Thank you for any advice!!

go to radio shack and look for an RF converter. Tell them your itutationa nd they should be able to help you out.
