In planning the set-up of my surround speakers, my only option is running my speaker wire up into my attic and over my great room. My attic gets really hot in the summer and I was wondering what type speaker wire I should use under those conditions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

radioshack has some cabling that i used which is rated to be inwall for fire protection. That will keep you on this side of the fire code... Other than that, cables should be able to withstand that kind of heat.
