What is the best hookup for this senario?

Cable into the house at the basement.
I want to hook up:

a internet modum in the basement.
a T.V in the basement
a T.V in the upstairs bedroom.
a T.V in the upstairs livingroom.
Should I just use a 4 way splitter?
Should I put the modom 1st them split it to the T.Vs
Thanks for any help

Hi Dave.
In my house, the splitter comes before the modem.

I'm no expert, but I would use a 2 way splitter first: one cable to the modem, other cable into a 2-way splitter: one cable to the basement TV and one cable running upstairs. Upstairs I would use another 2-way splitter for the 2 TVs up there. Depending on lenght of the TV cables going up stairs , I might also use a powered signal amp.

Mike
