I have an Altec Lansing speaker system for my PC comprised of a subwoofer and two speakers. The subwoofer connects to the PC and the speakers connect to the subwoofer. One of the speakers connects with an orange RCA connector. I purchased an extension cable for it at Radio Shack but it doesn't work (no sound with extension cable). I've noticed that the male end of the extension cable does not fit as tightly in the jack as does the connector from the speaker. Both connectors appear to be the same size. Is it possible that I have the wrong type of cable? I suppose the new cable could be defective.
